Real Madrid legend Sergio Ramos put his Los Blancos ties to one side as he heaped praise on former Barcelona rival Lionel Messi.

Ramos and Messi faced off on countless occasions in El Clasico and the duo share the record for most appearances in the fixture with 45 apiece.

One of the most memorable encounters between the Spaniard and Argentine came in April 2017, when Ramos was sent off for a lunge on Messi before the latter scored a dramatic winner with the last kick of the game.

But Ramos, who joined Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer this summer, has nothing but respect for the six-time Ballon d'Or winner's quality.
