Chakib Khelil (Arabic: شكيب خليل; born 8 August 1939) is an Algerian political figure who served in the government of Algeria as Minister of Energy and Mines from 1999 to 2010.

Early life and education

Khelil was born on 8 August 1939 in Oujda, Morocco.[1] He received a bachelor and master degrees in mining and petroleum engineering from Ohio State University in 1964 and 1965, respectively. He also obtained a doctorate in petroleum engineering from Texas A&M University in 1968.[1]
