Windham Lawrence Rotunda was born on May 23rd, in Brooksville, Florida. The son of WWE legend Mike Rotunda aka Irwin R. Schyster and grandson of Blackjack Mulligan, it was perhaps inevitable Rotunda would join the family business by becoming a pro wrestler himself.

In , his final year attending Hernando High School, Rotunda won a state wrestling championship but decided to pursue football instead.

He earned a football scholarship to Troy University but dropped out after two years to begin his pro wrestling career.
